Europe may be winning this

at least according to the definition of Winston Churchill: Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.
Or in other words, life is all about kicking the can down the road one more time.
We know this is not the end; It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
And I am pretty sure that there will be more blood, sweat and tears... (x)

While Europe will try to muddle through over coming months and years, attention will probably shift back to the US and its struggles. During election season this should be especially entertaining... (*)

(x) I just read that 'Angela Merkel is warning that Europe is facing the toughest hour since World War 2'. So she is already on board with the Churchill rhetoric.

(*) It has been said that politics is showbiz with ugly (but wealthy) people. After recent events this line should perhaps be modified to 'ugly and stupid'.

Thus spake Zarathustra -
You too, Wolfgang, have now reached the existential dispair stage of economic comprehension. Wait, now, for the enlightenment of the Superman.

Actually I think Schopenhauer had it right, who famously wrote about EU politics that "it really is a tragedy, but gone through in detail, it has the character of a comedy."

The Europeans are nuts - they have a German pope and an Italian central banker.

So is the population that elects them also stupid?
